Celebrating 2024's new books

The Manuscript Works Newsletter

Essential knowledge on scholarly book publishing that every author should have

Dear Reader,

We've finally made it to the last month of 2024, which I think we all deserve to celebrate. I'm particularly happy today to celebrate all the scholarly books released this past year by Manuscript Works clients and readers.

My heart definitely grew several sizes as I scrolled this list of books and thought about alllllll the hard work these authors (and the staff at their publishers) have poured into them. In some cases, when the authors worked with me directly on their manuscripts or book proposals, I got to see the hard work up close. In other cases, my connection was more indirect—maybe I answered a quick question or the writer used tips from The Book Proposal Book or this newsletter to land their contract. Regardless, I'm filled with pride to share these books, and I'm so grateful to all you authors out there who welcome me and my resources into your book-writing lives in any capacity.

Please feel free to scroll the list of books below and click through to find out more about any that interest you (I've included time-sensitive discount codes where applicable too). If you're working on a book of your own, perusing this collection of books is also a great way to stimulate your thinking about your own publishing goals. Consider which covers you find most appealing and what makes them pop for you. Pay attention to which titles and subtitles make you want to learn more about the content within. If you happen to spot a book that makes you nervous because it seems similar to the one you're working on, take a deep breath and read this post.

I hope you find this list as inspiring as I do, and if you're currently working on a scholarly book, I'd love to help you get it published. In next week's newsletter, I'll have all the details about my upcoming Book Proposal Accelerator plus a registration link for my free workshop on January 8th, Land a Scholarly Book Contract in 2025, so stay tuned!
